How a round works

3-Hand Casino Hold'em is a casino table game built on the foundation of Texas Hold'em poker, where you play against the dealer rather than other players. The name says it all — in this version a single player can play three separate hands at the same time.

A round starts with the ante bet. A separate ante is required for each hand. Once bets are placed the dealer deals two cards to each hand and takes two cards for themselves — only one of the dealer's cards is face up.

Three community cards are then placed on the board and shared by all hands. At this point you decide for each hand whether to call or fold. Calling requires a call bet of twice the ante. Folding means that hand's ante is lost. After you call, the dealer reveals the fourth and fifth community cards and turns over their two cards. The best five-card hand wins.

One important point — the dealer must qualify. If the dealer's hand does not contain at least a pair of fours, the ante pays out but the call bet pushes.

Bet types and what they pay

Ante Bet

This is the mandatory main bet for each hand. If the dealer does not qualify, the ante pays even money. If the dealer qualifies and your hand wins, the ante pays even money, and certain strong hands may also receive an ante bonus.

Required for each hand

Call Bet

After seeing the three community cards, if you want to continue with a hand you place a call bet equal to twice the ante. If the dealer qualifies and your hand beats the dealer's, the call bet pays even money.

2× the ante

AA+ Side Bet

This is an optional side bet that can be added alongside the main bet. It pays when your two hole cards and the three community cards together form at least a pair of aces or better. A royal flush pays the most.

Optional side bet

Ante Bonus

If you land a flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, or royal flush, the ante bonus pays out regardless of whether you beat the dealer. The bonus payout increases with the strength of the hand.

Automatic on strong hands

Fold

After seeing the flop, if a hand looks weak with little chance of winning, you can fold. Folding forfeits that hand's ante and ends play on it. Since the three hands are managed independently, you can fold one weak hand and continue with the other two.

Ante is forfeited

Progressive Jackpot Bet

Some table variants offer a separate progressive jackpot side bet. Hitting certain rare hands gives you a chance to win part or all of the accumulated jackpot pool. This is entirely optional and has no effect on the main game.

House edge and basic strategy

The house edge in Casino Hold'em is generally quite low compared to most casino card games — with correct strategy it sits close to 2%. This is not fixed, however, as pay tables and rules can vary by table. The AA+ side bet typically carries a higher house edge than the main bet.

The key advice for newcomers is to understand the main bet strategy well before focusing on side bets. A few straightforward tips are listed below:

Call with a pair or a strong draw: If your two hole cards form a pair, or the flop gives you a flush or straight draw alongside the community cards, calling is usually the right move.

Fold clearly weak hands: If the flop connects with nothing and your hole cards are low, folding to limit your loss is the correct decision.

Judge each hand separately: The particular advantage of this game is that each hand is managed independently. Folding one hand while calling on the other two is completely valid and can be the right strategic play.

Set a budget: As part of responsible gaming, set a budget before each session and stay within it.

Be careful with side bets: The AA+ and progressive side bets carry a higher house edge. They are fine to place occasionally for variety, but spending heavily on them in regular play is not advised.

Live dealer vs digital version

Live Dealer Hold'em

  • Played via video stream with a real dealer, giving you the feel of a table environment
  • Chat with other players at the table
  • High-quality streams from studios such as Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, and Ezugi
  • Table limits are generally more varied than in the digital version
  • Each hand takes a little longer as the dealer physically deals the cards

Digital (RNG) Hold'em

  • Cards are dealt by a computer random number generator, so play is faster
  • Play at any time at your own pace, and pausing is easy
  • Generally more options for playing with a smaller budget
  • Better suited for newcomers practising strategy
  • A slightly weak internet connection causes less disruption to play

Which one suits you?

If you are playing this game for the first time and want to learn the rules at your own pace, start with the digital version. You control the speed of play and there is no pressure to rush if you make a mistake.

Once you have a solid grasp of the rules and feel confident in your strategy, move to a live dealer table. Playing with a real dealer is a completely different experience — the casino atmosphere comes alive on screen.

What you should know about table limits

3-Hand Casino Hold'em tables come in different types and each has its own limits. There are generally three kinds of table:

  • Low-stake tables: For those just starting out or playing on a smaller budget. The ante per hand can be kept relatively low, making longer sessions possible.
  • Mid-level tables: The most popular choice among regular players. Bet ranges are moderate and most live tables fall into this category.
  • High-stake live tables: For experienced players with a larger budget. A single round can result in a significant win or loss, so making the right strategic decisions matters even more here.
  • Three hands and side bets combined: Keep in mind that playing three hands means your total bet is three times larger. Adding side bets increases it further. When checking limits, calculate the total possible spend per round.
  • Flexibility in digital tables: RNG versions generally offer more bet customisation — you can place different amounts on each hand, which helps with budget management.

Just as with slot games, choosing a table with limits that suit you is important — you can visit the slots section to play games across various ranges and get a feel for budgeting.

Frequently Asked Questions

In regular Texas Hold'em you play against other players, and there are four betting rounds — blind, pre-flop, flop, turn, and river. In Casino Hold'em you play only against the dealer, and there are just two betting rounds. In the 3-Hand version the game is played across three simultaneous hands, giving you three times as many decisions each round.

Yes. If the dealer does not qualify (meaning the dealer's hand does not contain at least a pair of fours), your ante bet pays even money — even if the dealer's hand is stronger than yours. The call bet pushes, meaning that amount is returned to you. If the dealer does qualify, the best hand wins under normal rules.

It depends on the table or game variant you are playing. Many digital versions allow you to place different ante bets on each of the three hands. Live dealer tables allow customisation within set limits. In practice, however, keeping equal antes on all three hands is the most common approach.

The AA+ side bet pays when your two hole cards combined with the three flop cards form at least a pair of aces. The pay table typically lists separate payouts for different hands ranging from a pair of aces up to a royal flush. The highest payout is usually for a royal flush. The result of the main bet has no effect on this side bet.

Yes. The 111bet platform is optimised for mobile. The digital version runs smoothly on mobile devices. The live dealer version can also be played on mobile — a good internet connection keeps the stream quality stable. The 111bet app is available for both Android and iOS through official channels.
